Applying 2018 Fashion Trends In Your Home

Jan 10, 2018by Kimberly Foerst
The fashion world is not limited to clothing and accessories. Clothing styles that are on trend can easily be transitioned into the home. This year’s fashion trends include everything from the color purple to bold prints, fringe, plastics and more.
Obviously, some fashion trends will be more difficult to incorporate into your home than others. But we want to highlight three options that will be extremely easy to get you started.

1. Fringe & Feathers
According to the article linked above, many fashion shows recently have featured fringe and feathers. This one is probably the easiest and least expensive to bring into your home. Just walk into any Home Goods store and you will see rows of decorative throw pillows that have fringed edges -- many made by yours truly Lush Decor. While we don’t carry as many pillows on our website, you will likely see a much larger selection of our pillows that fit this style at your local Home Goods, Big Lots and other similar stores.

2. Ultra Violet
Another very simple fashion trend to bring into your home is adding Pantone’s Color of the Year. It’s not just this particular shade of purple that is popular in fashion. Many shades, especially lavender, are going to be very popular with fashionistas in 2018. The opportunities are endless with this one. Simply add purple paint, purple bedding, purple furniture, purple window treatments, purple rugs, purple lights, purple shower curtains and/or purple accessories throughout your home.

3. Bold Prints
For 2018, floral prints, stripes, polka dots and plaids are going to be huge in fashion. These are so easy to incorporate into your home. Primarily, window treatments come to mind. We alone offer elegant curtains that cover all of these trends. But you also have the option again of bedding, wallpaper, decorative throw pillows, throw rugs, shower curtains, furniture protectors and more.
If you want your home to stay up to date with the ever changing fashion industry, there are always easy and inexpensive ways to do it. Decorative home textiles make a great option for changes you will make often, because they’re not permanent and don’t have to cost a lot of money, while changing your paint and furniture tend to require a larger investment of time and money.
