Fall is such a fantastic season! Colorful trees, yummy treats and so much fun to be had for you and your baby or toddler. Keep reading to learn about some activities you can enjoy together.

Corn maze

What better way to embrace fall than with one of the most quintessential autumn activities! Many farms are very family friendly with hayrides, fun photo ops and plenty of pumpkin picking. A visit to the corn maze is always packed with a full day of fun!

Homemade applesauce

Not only is this a fun activity but a great snack for your little one. Go to your nearest apple picking farm with your baby or toddler and pick as many as you desire! After peeling and coring your apples, cut them up into chunks. This part is for the adults – toss the apple pieces into a pan, cover with water and boil until soft. Then mash up your apples with a potato masher, add a bit of cinnamon for taste and enjoy!

Playing with gourds

Sensory play is important for your little one to help develop their motor skills. While you’re at the farm wandering the corn mazes, pick up some gourds and pumpkins for your baby to play with during tummy time.

Arts & Crafts with Leaves

There are so many ways to create fun crafts with leaves, and a quick example is making a leaf mobile! Let your little one gather leaves from outside and a stick with a long enough width to be a mobile. Use some string to tie around the stick and then around the stem of the leaves. Take a long piece of string to tie around each end of your stick to use for hanging. Feel free to add pinecones or anything else for your original craft!

Pinecone Bird Feeder

While you're outside with your baby or toddler enjoying the beautiful fall weather, pick up some pinecones for this next craft! You’ll also need peanut butter, a popsicle stick, bird seed and string. Use the popsicle stick to spread peanut butter all over your pinecone. Next, roll or sprinkle the peanut butter coated cone into bird seed. Lastly use the string to tie around the top of the pinecone, hang from a tree and wait for the birds to come!

Autumn opens so many opportunities to enjoy the outdoors and introduce your baby to new sights, smells and surfaces. These activities only scrape the surface of all the fun you’ll be having this season!
